Q: Why do I need to do a patch test before I colour my hair?
A: We always recommend you do a patch test 48 hours before colouring your hair to help determine whether there is a possibility of an allergic reaction. This should be done even if you have dyed your hair before and even if you’ve had it done at a salon. Follow the instructions on the pack or take a look at our short film above on doing a patch test. If you experience any reaction during this time such as tingling, swelling of the face or irritation, then it’s best not to go ahead with the colouring and seek medical advice.
